Insomniac Games has offered a new piece of art work for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 this week, which gives us a new glimpse at Venom in action. In addition, the studio confirmed it’s not Eddie Brock this time around.
Speaking during Summer Game Fest, Brian Intihar, Creative Director on Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, revealed that Brock won’t be integrated into Venom’s origins story this time around.
It is not Eddie Brock, our goal was to tell an original story something you haven’t seen in the comics and the movies yet. Obviously, we love Venom for a reason, all those things you love about the character are going to be there, but how the story plays out, who is Venom, you’ll have to play the game to see.
Insomniac Games confirmed during Summer Game Fest last night that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will ship for PS5 on October 20, 2023. Pre-orders go live on June 16, and there’s a Collector’s Edition available if you fancy splashing out the extra cash on the web-slinging sequel.
