Mortal Kombat 2 Film Casts Shao Khan, Quan Chi, Queen Sindel, And King Jerrod

The upcoming Mortal Kombat 2 film coming from New Line Cinema and returning director Simon McQuiod has capped off its casting with the reveal of the actors stepping into the roles of Shao Khan, Quan Chi, Queen Sindel and King Jerrod.

Shao Khan will be played by actor and bodybuilder Martyn Ford, a physical force of nature that more than looks the part with the presence he brings.

Desmond Chiam will be taking on the role of King Jerrod, while Damon Herriman is set to play Quan Chi, and Queen Sindel will be played by none other than Ana Thu Nguyen.

The four join the likes of Karl Urban as Johnny Cage, Tati Gabrielle as Jade, and Adeline Rudolph as Kitana, along with the rest of the returning cast from the first film.

While the McQuiod’s first Mortal Kombat film didn’t win any cinematic awards, it did do the best job of any film before it in capturing a core feeling of Mortal Kombat in its incredibly violent action sequences.

A sequel is a chance to mix the action McQuiod already nailed, and hopefully a stronger narrative to make for a better movie overall.

Though if it once again doesn’t totally work, but still does well financially, McQuiod will reportedly have another two chances at it, as there’s already been an indication that four total movies are planned.
