Absurd Ventures is a new studio from Rockstar co-founder Dan Houser, that’ll be tackling more than just video games, creating “stories for a diverse variety of genres, without regard to medium, to be produced for live-action and animation; video games and other interactive content; books, graphic novels, and scripted podcasts,” per a press release.
This isn’t the first time we’ve heard of Absurd Ventures, as Houser was registering the company name and establishing it all the way back in 2021, a year after he left Rockstar.
Thursday’s reveal however looks to be a more official announcement, as we’re getting a full press release on the studio, and a series of videos and images on its Twitter page, which was set up in October last year, though only began posting on Thursday.
You could call these videos and images in their own way, absurd, and because of the studio’s approach to storytelling its not clear if any of this is actual hints towards projects Absurd already has in the works, or more just tone and concept pieces to help attract talent.
