The upcoming changes to Cyberpunk 2077 will not be blocked behind a paywall for the game’s upcoming Phantom Liberty DLC, and will be added to the base game.
CD Projekt RED announced recently that it will be overhauling key areas in Cyberpunk 2077, including basic mechanics, the skill system, and combat. However, at the the time folk were unsure if this meant they would have to pay for the Phantom Liberty DLC to access these changes.
Fortunately, content creator SphereHunter, who is also voicing a character in the DLC, confirmed this is not the case. The base version of Cyberpunk 2077 will include these broad changes.
All of these changes are also coming in the base game, it’s not just in the expansion. The entire game has been redone with this stuff.
Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty is scheduled for release on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S on September 26, 2023.
