Mortal Kombat 1 Announced For PS5 In Bloody Trailer, Is A Reboot Coming On September 19

NetherRealm Studios has officially lifted the wraps off the highly anticipated next chapter in the Mortal Kombat series. As previously reported, it’s called Mortal Kombat 1 and is a reboot of the series coming to PS5, PC, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series X/S on September 19, 2023.

The game takes place in a new reality constructed by Fire God Lui Kang, and the CG announcement trailer showcases a number of iconic characters returning, including Kitana, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Shang Tsung, and more.

Mortal Kombat 1 will also receive a Beta on PlayStation and Xbox formats, with preorders netting you access to Shang Tsung as a playable fighter.

What’s more, the Kombat Pack will feature a character skin for Johnny Cage in the likeness of Jean-Claude Van Damme, as well as early access to six playable characters (post-launch) and five new Kameo Fighters (post launch).
